the psychology of getting stuck

Whatever you are meant to do, do it now.

The conditions are always impossible.

Join Kit in conversation with psychotherapist and former literary editor Helen Thomas to explore the deeper psychology of writer’s block and why we sometimes get stuck.

Most writers get stuck at some point. Sometimes the trouble is in the craft: the story has taken a wrong turn, or there’s a technical skill that needs some work. But sometimes the problem isn’t on the page at all.

We’ll explore how our fears, beliefs, expectations and experiences can interfere with the creative process, sometimes without us even realising it.

Helen spent 15 years as an editor at major UK publishing houses before training as a psychotherapist. Her practice includes working with writers and artists to explore the blocks in the psyche that get in the way of creative expression. She works 1:1 as well as facilitating groups and workshops.
